Sterling Silver Cameo Ring
- marked 'STERLING' inside side of band
- constructed out of solid sterling silver with pressed glass cameo
- ring features an orangish-red glass cameo of a woman with long hair wearing a bonnet
- cameo measures 13.4mm long x 9.8mm wide
- glass made to imitate the gemstone carnelian, which was popular at the time
- there is a chip out of the glass on the bottom left corner of stone. This is typical of age, glass is soft, and it has been glued in that corner to keep the stone from wiggling (see 7th & 8th photos).
- closed back setting
- shoulders have a classic fluted design that taper to a 2.7mm wide band at back
- face of ring is 1.4cm long
- ring rises 3.5mm off finger
- size 8 (band is out-of-round)
- ring is in good antique condition with some tarnishing inside band
