Vintage Mid-century Brutalist Opal Triplet Ring in Sterling Silver

Vintage ring constructed out of solid sterling silver and an opal triplet. An opal triplets is a genuine slice of opal (usually black opal, like this ring) sandwiched between a black base (to enhance colour) and a clear top (for durability).  The oval opal triplet measures 9.1mm long x 7mm wide is claw set at the centre of the ring. This chunky ring features a textured, organic ridged design that domes up off the finger. The face of the ring is 1cm long and rises 8mm off the finger. Excellent vintage condition circa 1950s.

Size 6.5.

Marked with the faint remains of 'STERLING' inside band at back. A previous sizing can be seen at the back and that what is partially obscuring the 'sterling' mark.
