Polish 14k Colour Change Alexandrite Ring
- fully hallmarked with Polish hallmarks circa 1963-86 with a W for Warsaw. It has a secondary mark of just a soldiers head marking for cast items of over 3 grams. It also has another mark that kind of looks like a dragonfly that I could not find, possibly a manufacturer's mark?
- ring is constructed of solid 14k (585 purity) slightly roseish yellow gold, and a lab made colour change sapphire (widely used and accepted to imitate the rare genuine Alexandrite)
- a 9.7mm x 7.5mm x 4.8mm oval mixed cut lab alexandrite is bezel set at the centre of the ring
- colour changes as follows: PURPLE under incandescent(yellow) light, a pale/LIGHT BLUE in mixed(white & yellow) light, and a TEAL BLUE in white light
- my camera only captures purple, even though I use white light to photograph and the stone was teal blue to my eyes, the camera turned it purple in pictures! So cool!
- stone sits a top a filigree oval dome rising 8mm off finger
- face of ring is 1.6cm long
- band is 2.4mm wide
- ring is a size 7
- weighs 4.3 grams
- ring is in overall excellent vintage condition with no signs of wear
